Kickstarting with a bang, PAPAYA Fest 2024 opens with this unforgettable queer, Latinx, neurodiverse-led, multidisciplinary, hyper-sensory performance from An(dre)a Spisto and Joana Nastari!
Dre and Jo are busy-important-slugs-on-the rise, going straight to the top. Lett-uce be frank: these queer deviants will be dancing, lip syncing and writhing around in lots…and lots of SLIME.
"50 ways to Kill a Slug" celebrates queerness, ugliness, and uselessness, exploring the slug as a political symbol of resistance. Rejecting the relentless grind, these sluggies embrace radical slowness, defiantly rejecting the binary "BE PRODUCTIVE OR DIE!".
Watch them strive to transcend their terrestrial existence in a sexy, ugly divergence from the unsustainable norm. Join us in slug land, where it's safe—or is it? Squish!
